BOTOX in hyperhidrosis

What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a physical disorder characterized by excessive perspiration of some areas of the body. It appears interfering in persons’ life, daily activities, labour relations, with friends and with the couple.

How does hyperhidrosis affect people’s quality of life?
Persuading social contact, not stretching hands, changing clothes more than once a day, are some of the rituals that these people have to accomplish every day. The hyperhidrosis causes low quality of personal and professional growth, who sometimes express that their work looks untidy. Pursuant to studies, it is estimated that 73% of people who suffer this problem, feel emotionally affected.

Hyperhidrosis origin
Hyperhidrosis can be primary, that is, with unknown cause, or secondary, related to any other pathology, and can be manifested in a generalised or localized way in areas such as armpits, palms, feet or face. It is important to highlight that hyperhidrosis is different from bromohidrosis, that is ugly smell in perspiration, that is caused by bacteria and yeast that causes perspiration to decompose, causing bad odour.

Kinds of hyperhidrosis
The most common kind is axillary’s hyperhidrosis; it has the 60 % of the cases. The excessive perspiration in the armpits is caused by the hyperactivity of the glands of that area y causes the individual feeling untidy, changing clothes during the day. According to several studies, 52% of patients change their clothes at least once a day, while 20% takes a second shower. On the other hand, sole and palm hyperhidrosis may affect children, and this is the group that more suffers, they are looking for a solution all their lives. Instead, axillaries hyperhidrosis affect adolescents, but also affects social life. The third group is constituted by patients that suffer crane-facial hyperhidrosis, and generally they are adults.

Relevance of a correct treatment
The key for hyperhidrosis treatment is in the medical diagnosis. The treatment is recommended according to the cause and type of symptoms. It is very common that many patients with localized hyperhidrosis go to the doctor, when actually they suffer from hyperthyroidism instead of primary localized hyperhidrosis (unknown cause). That is why the importance of differentiating both situations, because there is a great difference in each treatment.

How does BOTOX® works in the treatment?
Treatment with BOTOX® is one of the newest and most effective for localized hyperhidrosis, especially in armpits, since it is approved by regulatory organisms such as FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and ANMAT (National Authority of Medicine, Food and Technology). Type of fillings:
Juvéderm:
The synthetic hyaluronic acid stabilized is a modern filling created for soothing wrinkles, lines, folds, and enhancing lips volume. It is natural and safe, thanks to its no animal origin, totally biocompatible and biodegradable. It is aimed at giving volume where the body hyaluronic acid has disappeared. It is no required a preliminary allergenic test. It is collocated in small doses in the patient’s dermis y it gives the patient a great pleasure for one year. Nowadays it is most used substance.

Lipofilling (Fat graft):
It is recommended to fill cellulite holes and to enhance gluteus volume. This kind of filling is aimed at carrying adipose tissue from one region of the body to another. The allergenic test is not necessary because tit is injected own tissue, of the body. Anaesthesia is local not only in the drawer area (abdominal, hips, etc) but in the recipient as well. During the post surgical period there may appear swelling of the area that will disappear between 24 and 72 hours. It is important to highlight that not every fat tissue survives. During the first six weeks it is probable that a 60% is reabsorbed.

THERMAGE

Thermage is a non-surgical method, save and effective, which gives back skin its tonicity, texture and freshness. The procedure is a non invasive treatment that tenses the dermis, revitalizes the facial shape and produces healthier collagen. The procedure applies a patented technology of radiofrequency (RF) called “Thermacool” that that tenses and lifts the skin, soothing wrinkles and revitalises the face shape. This procedure is quick and simple and does not require stopping daily activities. It is different from lasers, because it can be collocated in any kind of skin. The Thermacool technology has been approved by the FDA as a non invasive treatment for face wrinkles.

MESOTHERAPY

The mesotherapy is a medical treatment used to repair aesthetical pathologies such as cellulite, circulatory problems, alopecia, and skin problems, amongst others. It is an effective treatment provided it is performed in adequate conditions and with the correct compositions. The mesotherapy is a new, simple and therapeutic therapy that takes de medicine to the place affected with intradermical doses, minimum and regional. The medicine can get to the place more quickly, with lower doses and during longer period. This procedure can be adequate for other pathologies, but has excellent result in the aesthetic fields and in chronic pain treatment. PEELING

Peeling or skin exfoliation consists in the renovation of the superficial layers of the skin, causing an accelerated cell renewal. It is aimed at enhance the skin appearance, luminosity, smoothing wrinkles and marks. It also solves acne scars.
Types of peeling:
- Mechanic, with brushes, drills, crystal or stone files.
- Chemical, alphahidroxiacids, tricloroacetic, phenol.
- Physics resurfacing laser with CO2 and erbium.
Depending on the depth grade may be superficial, medium or deep.

After treatment, the patient may return to daily activities normally.

Which results shall I expect?

How does it feel when hair is being removed?

Can any type of skin be treated?
